CRCA History
Origins and Growth
After Liberia’s independence in 1847, Christianity was primarily concentrated along the coast, while the hinterland remained rooted in traditional beliefs. Dr. Bedi Bediako, a professor at the University of Liberia, started a Bible study in Monrovia, which grew into the Christian Revival Fellowship Church (CRFC). Services were held at Tubman High School, but the 1989 civil war led to a mass exodus, including Dr. Bediako, effectively shutting down the church.
Replanting the Church
As peace returned, James Washington sought to revive CRFC. Despite doubts, six members committed to prayer. They invited Rev. Dennis Aggrey, a campus minister, to lead them. Under his leadership in 1992, the church grew rapidly through evangelism and Bible study groups, expanding from six members to 110 within two months. However, in 1996, Dennis stepped down to focus on evangelism, prompting a leadership transition.
Leadership Transitions
CRFC was officially incorporated in Liberia in 1996. That year, Dennis left for studies in the U.S., and Pastor Orlando Aggrey took over until 1997, when Pastor Jeree Addy was appointed. He led until 2005, after which Rev. Sam Tabolo, a long-time member, became pastor.
Building and Expansion
Despite being the oldest CRFC church, the congregation lacked a permanent building. Worship services were held at Tubman High School, which was disrupted during wartime. In response, the church acquired land in Sinkor and designed an octagonal structure with the help of a blind architect. Supported by Samaritan’s Purse and others, construction began.
Formation of CRCA
By 2007, CRFC had expanded, planting multiple churches across Liberia. To oversee these growing congregations, the Christian Revival Church Association (CRCA) was established, continuing its mission of evangelism, missions, and church planting.

Statement of Faith
We Believe
The Bible
The 66 books of the Bible are divinely inspired, without error in their original form, and the ultimate authority on faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21)
God
There is one God, existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is eternal, holy, all-powerful, and unchanging. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19)
- God the Father: Just and loving, He desires all to be saved and sent His Son for redemption. (John 3:16-17)
- Jesus Christ: Eternal God who became man, lived sinlessly, died for our sins, rose from the dead, and will return. (John 1:1, 14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
- The Holy Spirit: Guides, sanctifies, empowers believers, and distributes spiritual gifts. (John 16:7-11; 1 Corinthians 12:11-14)
Satan
A fallen spirit, Satan opposes God, deceives people, and promotes evil, but he has been defeated by Christ and will face eternal punishment. (Revelation 20:10; James 4:7)
Humanity & Sin
All people inherit sin from Adam and are responsible for their own sins, leading to spiritual death. (Romans 3:23; 6:23)
Salvation
A gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It cannot be earned but is given freely to those who repent and believe. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Sanctification
A believer is made holy at salvation and continues to grow spiritually through the work of the Holy Spirit. (Philippians 1:6; Galatians 5:22-25)
Life After Death
Believers go to be with Christ, while unbelievers await final judgment. (2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Revelation 20:12-15)
Christ’s Return
Jesus will return to gather believers and judge the world. The saved will have eternal life; the lost will face eternal punishment. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Matthew 25:46)
The Church
The universal Church is the body of Christ, and believers are called to gather in local congregations for worship, teaching, and service. (Ephesians 1:22-23; Hebrews 10:24-25)
The Great Commission
All believers are called to share the gospel through their lives and witness. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)
Baptism & The Lord’s Supper
These are symbolic acts of faith, not means of salvation.
- Baptism: For believers, by immersion. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4)
- The Lord’s Supper: A remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice, observed by baptized believers. (1 Corinthians 11:23-29)
