Since the Ebola virus outbreak in West Africa in August, there have been 4,366 confirmed, suspected, or probable cases of the disease, with 2,218 deaths in 3 West African countries. The pace of infections and the amount of deaths are increasing each day. The epidemic is not just devastating the Liberian population but is also crippling all sectors of the country’s economy, especially trade, health, and imports. Liberia is currently experiencing its worst ever crisis since the end of the country’s 14-year civil war in 2013. Beyond the virus, the situation of famine will increase because of agricultural and economical setbacks.
CRCA is taking action and you can help! Beginning in September and running through May 2015, CRCA will run a project to provide the desperately needed LIberian staple food, rice, in communities that are in need with the purpose of loving the way Jesus loves.
